Jos - The Plateau Government has relaxed the curfew it imposed on four local government areas of the state on Sunday.
The Commissioner for Information, Mr Abraham Yiljap, said in a statement issued on Tuesday in Jos that the curfew would now run from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m in the affected council areas of Jos North, Jos South, Riyom and Barkin-Ladi.
It would be recalled that the curfew was earlier imposed to run from 6 p.m. to 12.30 p.m., following the violence that resulted in the death of Sen. Gyang Dantong, and the Majority Leader in the state House of Assembly, Mr Gyang Fulani.
The duo died following a stampede which occurred as a result of an attack at a burial ceremony at Masei village, in the Riyom Local Government Area. It has been reported that more than 80 other people were also killed in the carnage.
