Osun - A storekeeper, Okunola
Oyesakin, was on Wednesday arraigned in an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun,
for allegedly defrauding his employer of N2.5 million.
Oyesakin, 35, whose address was not provided, is facing a
charge of fraud.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Christian Olajide told the court that
the accused committed the offence sometime between 2014 and July 2015 at No.
415, Omole Estate, Modakeke, Ile-Ife.

Olajide said that the accused, an employee of Lexican
Investment Limited, sold crates of assorted brands of beers and other drinks,
valued over N2.5 million and converted the proceeds to his personal use.
He said that the offences committed contravened Section 383
(1) and punishable under Section 390 (6) of the Criminal Code, Cap C38 Vol. 11
Laws of Osun, 2003.
However, Oyesakin pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs Iyabode Salami, granted the accused bail
in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case till Sept 28, for hearing.
