Police arrest 1 in Gombe killing

Gombe - The Police in Gombe have arrested one person in connection with the killing of five persons and injuring of seven others by gunmen at Bagadaza area of Gombe City.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Fwaje Atajiri, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday that the suspect was arrested at the scene of the incident.

Atajiri said that five persons were killed and seven others injured during the attack.

He said that the suspect was being interrogated by the police.

Atajiri said the gunmen who rode on motorcycles went to the area where the victims were playing cards and and fired at them, resulting to the death of the five persons and injuring of seven others.

The PPRO said the seven injured persons had been admitted at the Federal Medical Centre, Gombe for treatment.
