Police arrests 6 over Ajah crisis

Lagos - DSP Ngozi Braide, the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson on Monday, said that the command had began investigations into the Ajah crisis in Lagos.

Braide disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

She said that six persons arrested over the crisis, including a traditional ruler had been transferred to the State CID, Panti.

According to her, the suspects are helping the police in their investigation with a view to know others involved in the crisis.

NAN reports that the Ajah crisis broke out on Nov. 27 over a land tussles between the Ilajes and Ijebus residing in Ajah.

``One person lost his life. Two pump action guns recovered have been transferred to the Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja for investigations,” he said.

She said that peace had returned to the area, stressed that anti-riot policemen had been posted to the place to restore normalcy.

On the ongoing Eko 2012 Sports Festival, Braide said that there had been no incident that would warrant arrest of anybody, adding that the games had been peaceful.
