Maiduguri - The Borno Police Command said on Monday it had put in place all necessary arrangements to ensure the protection of lives and property during the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.
Lawan Tanko, the Commissioner of Police, said this while addressing newsmen in Maiduguri.
"I want to assure the good people of Borno of their safety during and after the celebration.
"I want to say that all necessary security arrangements have been made to ensure that people go about their Sallah festivity without fear of molestation or hindrance,'' Tanko said.
He appealed to the residents of the state to be security conscious at all times.
"Residents of the state should be security conscious and report any strange happenings in their areas to the nearest security agents.
"Individuals should also be law abiding throughout the Sallah celebrations.''
