Police call for vigilance in Bauchi

26 October 2012, 09:32

Bauchi - The Bauchi State Police Command has advised residents of the state to be security conscious during the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.

In a statement issued by the command’s Deputy Public Relations Officer, ASP. Hassan Auyo, the command said that ensuring a peaceful celebration was the responsibility of every citizen of the state.

It, however, assured the people that measures had been put in place to ensure that there was no breach of the peace in the state.

"The command wishes to draw the attention of the general public to the fact that they need to be security conscious and be vigilant and are also advised to patronise the distress call numbers given to them in case of any emergency.

"Parents and guardians are advised to warn their children against committing any act of criminality as the command is fully prepared to protect lives and property of all law-abiding citizens.

"Anyone who attempts to cause havoc, before, during or after the celebration will be dealt with in accordance with the law," it warned.
