Kaduna - The police in Kaduna have started arresting traders who sell explosive fireworks and those who buy and use them, ahead of the yuletide, its spokesman said.
The police move is contained in a statement issued by ASP Zangina Emmanuel, the Spokesman of the police in the state.
He warned that anyone caught with fireworks would be prosecuted.
"The police command in Kaduna State urges parents and guardians to caution their children and wards to refrain from the use of such explosives.
"The police will clampdown on persons selling and using fireworks.
"Anyone or group of persons caught dealing with it as this year's yuletide approaches, will be prosecuted accordingly,'' the police image maker added.
Fireworks otherwise known as "knockout" are mostly used by youths during festivals.
