Police declare bank manager, 2 others missing

18 September 2013, 21:40

Lafia - The Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu, on Wednesday declared the General Manager of the Police Cooperative Bank, Abuja, Gidado Hassan, and two others missing.

Shehu made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia.

He said that the manager and two others were said to have left Abuja in the early hours of Saturday for the wedding ceremony of his friend but had yet to return.

"The manager and two others were said to have left Abuja for a wedding in Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State on Saturday.

"Till the moment, there has not been any information about the whereabouts of the manager, his friend and driver.

The police commissioner said that search and rescue teams had been deployed to the Obi-Keana road where the victims were suspected to be missing.

“As at this time am talking to you, the men are yet to be located or even traced to any point.

Shehu said that policemen had returned to Obi-Keana road, following a tip-off that a vehicle was found inside a ditch along the road.

"I have dispatched a team of my men to go and identify the occupants of the vehicle.

"Up till this moment, my men are still on their way to the scene. I am still expecting their feedback,” he stated.
