Abuja - Riot policemen on Tuesday morning used teargas to push back and disperse protesters who are protesting against the federal government’s handling of the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) and Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) lecturers.
The demonstrators were made up of ASUP and COEASU members and thousands of students from polytechnics and colleges of education in Nigeria, reports Premium times.
There were, however no reports of injuries in the protest. The demonstrators have vowed not to leave the Federal Secretariat, Abuja, venue of the protest.
