Police foil robbery attack in Enugu

20 November 2012, 16:45 -

Enugu - The Enugu State Police Command on Tuesday said it foiled an armed robbery attack on Mike Torey St. in Trans Ekulu in Enugu following a distress call.

A statement from the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, said the distress call came from spirited members of the public.

According to him, the call, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, stated that a house located at the mentioned address was under attack by suspected hoodlums.

He said that the timely intervention of the police to the scene made the hoodlums to escape, but abandoned some valuable items they robbed from a victim in the house.

Amaraizu listed the recovered items to include a decoder, bundles of assorted wrappers and jewellery.

He said that the command had begun a full scale investigation to unmask those behind such act.
