Kano - The Kano State Police Command has arrested 12 notorious armed robbers, who have been terrorising residents of the city, ASP Magaji Majiya, the command’s Public Relations Officer, has said.
Majiya told newsmen on Monday in Kano that the suspects were arrested between August 7 and August 18 in different parts of the metropolis.
He said that seven of the suspects were nabbed on August 7 inside a J5 bus loaded with dangerous weapons.
"The suspects attempted to burgle a warehouse to steal fertiliser and rice," he said.

Majiya said that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to had participated in a robbery attack at Fullmark company where they carted away N4 million and killed a night watchman.
He said that three of the suspects were arrested on Aug. 18 at Hausawa Layout, also in Kano.
The police spokesman said that two other suspects were arrested for attacking a tanker driver on Eastern bye-pass road by Hotoro quarters.
"They made away with the tanker containing 33, 000 litres of diesel valued at N5 million.
"They were arrested while trying to dispose of the vehicle and the product," Majiya said, adding that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.
