Abuja - Marine police officers attached to the Bayelsa State Command have recovered a speed boat from suspected sea pirates in the area.
The recovery came after a collaboration with some youths of Ikeibiri Community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state.
This was disclosed in a police report obtained by this publication in Abuja.
The report stated that speed boat with the inscription “ Ebimoboere Marine 2” was mounted with a 75HP Yamaha engine.

“Marine Police on Patrol along Ikeibiri Community in Southern Ijaw LGA in collaboration with some youths of the community on 28th July, 2015 at about 10.00am recovered one speed boat with the inscription “ Ebimoboere Marine 2” mounted with 75HP Yamaha engine,” the report read.
It added that 32 rounds of live 7.56mm ammunition were found therein and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspected sea pirates as the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yenagoa, the state capital, continued investigations.
