Onitsha - The Police in Anambra have recovered four bodies from the rubble of the collapsed uncompleted four-storey building at a church premises in Onitsha.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Emeka Chukwuemeka, told the media in Onitsha on Tuesday that the bodies had been taken to a mortuary.
He said there was no official complaint from the church, owners of the collapsed building, or from the contractors handling the project.
“The police are still waiting for official report from the necessary authorities,” he said.
Chukwuemeka said that in line with Governor Willie Obiano’s directive, the police had commenced investigation into the cause of the collapse.
