Abuja - The Nigeria Police has renewed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Novena University in Ogume, Delta State to explore alternative ways to build the capacity of officers.
Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, said the renewal became necessary due to the desire of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase to equip officers with surpassing knowledge that would put them ahead of criminals, in fields such as intelligence and security studies.

The renewal of the MOU first signed in 2014,came as the IGP played host to a management team of Novena University, led by Prof. AA Osakwe, the Director of Academic Planning.
The MoU will among other things offer opportunities to deserving officers to study security related courses at a subsidized rate.
The IGP in his remarks pledged commitment of the Nigeria Police to implementing the MoU, as Novena University offered key courses in intelligence studies, which is crucial in 21st century policing.
