Police trace illegal arms owner

Abuja-  Kano State Police have traced the arms cache discovered in a house recently to a terrorism suspect.

Abdu Hassan Tahir who is now in custody of security agency for illegal possession of weapons, has been napped recently.

Speaking in Kano, Acting Lebanese Consul in Kano, Khallel Musliman confirmed the arrest.

A spokesperson for the Nigerian Army, Kano, Brigadier-General Ilyasu Abbah, said three more suspects were in already custody.

He named them as Abdallah Hassan Fadallah, Mustapher Fawaz and Abdullahi Tigani.

They have been moved to Abuja for further investigations.

Tahini was once previously arrested at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport over undeclared $60 000 on his way to Lebanon.

Recently, police unearthed a weapons cache at the property located at road adjacent to Kano Police headquarters.

Heavily armed soldiers are keeping vigil on the property.
