Delta - The police in Delta are on the trail of a gang of armed men who kidnapped Justice Marcel Okoh of the Delta High Court.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Charles Muka, told newsmen in Asaba on Wednesday that the incident occurred on Monday in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area.
He said the police had recovered the judge’s vehicle at Abraka.
He said the police were on the trail of the gang with a view to rescuing him unhurt.
Muka said Okoh left Asaba for Warri on Monday but was intercepted and kidnapped by the gang in a Golf car at Oria in Abraka.
“We have been able to recover his vehicle and as I speak with you, the kidnappers are yet to speak with the family.
“We are following up with the information we have and we want to ensure that we free the victim alive and ensure that no ransom is paid,’’ he said.
Muka said that the police were not satisfied with the role of the judge’s driver in the incident and that he might be invited for questioning.
