Police unearth weapons factory in Kaduna

Kaduna - Police detectives from the Kafanchan Area command in Kaduna State have uncovered a weapon factory where arms are manufactured illegally.  

This was disclosed in a police first information report obtained by CAJ News.

The report stated that four male were found in the premises and several exhibits were also recovered.

"Upon a tip-off, Police detectives from Kafanchan Area command on 7 September, 2015 at about 8:00am stormed a premises being used for illegal arms manufacturing," the report read.

It identified the four persons found at the premises as Isah Yahaya, Zamani Peter, Baye Tswan and Felix Paul.  

The report added that 37 locally-made pistols, 11 locally-made Revolver pistols, 34 locally-made single barrel guns, 104 drilling machines, three gas cylinders, two bench vices and two dane guns.

Four 7.62mm live ammunition, two Tiger generators, a Bajaj motorcycle, a scrap SMG rifle and two boxes containing assorted tools and parts of fabricated locally-made pistols-guns were also recovered from the premises.

The police authority said all exhibits recovered and suspects taken into to custody for interrogation and investigating.
