President hails late Shema

12 November 2013, 10:37

Abuja - President Goodluck Jonathan has paid tribute to Alhaji Shehu Shema, the late father of Katsina Governor Ibrahim Shema.

The condolence message was contained in a statement by Presidential spokesman Reuben Abati.

“On behalf of himself and the Federal Government, President Goodluck Jonathan conveys sincere condolences to Governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State on the passing away of his father Alhaji Shehu Shema at the National Hospital in Abuja,” Abati stated.

“As the Governor and members of his family mourn their father who was an accomplished farmer and notable community leader, President Jonathan urges them to also give thanks to Almighty Allah for Alhaji Shehu’s long and fulfilled life.

The President believes that in passing on at the grand old age of 86, Alhaji Shehu will return to his Maker in peace and contentment having produced worthy offspring such as Governor Shema who will proudly carry on his legacy of worthy and selfless service to their community, state and nation,” added the statement.

Shema died after a brief illness.
