Maiduguri - Mohammed Zanna, the branch Secretary of the Nigerian Red Cross Society in Borno, has commended the UNFPA for ensuring an effective partnership with humanitarian service providers in the state.
Zanna said this while fielding questions during an assessment visit by the UNFPA in Maiduguri.
"Partnership with the UNFPA is tremendous in delivering reproductive services to various communities in the state.
"Through the collaboration, we (Red Cross) have been sensitising communities on the use of reproductive kits and commodities at the Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs), general hospitals and even at the tertiary health level," he said.

The scribe noted increased demand for services and commodities by the beneficiaries as they acknowledged improvement in their lives.
Zanna specifically commended UNFPA for providing safe clean and dignity kits to promote safe deliveries and improved health of mothers and babies.
On the activities of the society, he said the Red Cross plays a key role in providing humanitarian support services in crises environments.
According to him, the organisation is always the first respondent with succour to crises situations.
Zanna explained that the Red Cross was in the forefront of providing first aid healthcare, food and nutrition as well as water and hygiene to victims of natural and artificial disasters in the society.
He called for more proactive and sustained collaboration to alleviate the hardships of victims of crises in the country.
