Lagos - Thursday marks one of the best and
ever celebrated independence anniversary," a branch of the ruling All
Progressives Congress said.
The APC United States International Secretariat said the
event would be marked with "economic sense" significantly
contradicting extravagance and wastefulness of the country's meagre resources.
Officials said in 2014, available records depicted the
past administration of President Goodluck Jonathan squandered N10 billion as to
N70 million approved for 2015 anniversary event.
"This is while the average Nigerian hardly makes
$2/day. Penny wise pound foolish," APC USSA International Coordinator,
Francis John, said.

He said this year’s anniversary celebration called for a
thorough comparison analysis between the past and the present, for the
successes made so far.
"Nigerians stand a better chance to sieve the good,
the bad and the ugly without blinking. Bygone to the era of; the more you see,
the less you understand."
John said in view of this, stakeholders must join hands
together to continue prayers for peace and unity of Nigeria.
"Happy New Month, October 1st. and God bless
Nigeria more," said John.
