Rivers advisory council drums support for Wike

21 September 2015, 18:02

Rivers - Newly-elected chairman of the Rivers State Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Felix Obuah, has urged political parties in the region to support Governor Nyesom Wike’s administration.

He encouraged the parties to help the disputed leadership move the state forward.

Obuah, the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday emerged the new IPAC leader, a position that was before the election, occupied by the State Chairman of the rival All Progressives Congress (APC), Davies Ikanya.

Meanwhile, the state chapter of the PDP has congratulated its chairman on his election as the new chairman of IPAC, an umbrella body of all registered political parties in the state.

"The victory of Obuah is well deserved and dividend of the good works of Governor Nyesom Wike in 100 days in office," Jerry Needam, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the PDP Chairman.

APC is challenging the election of Wike as governor earlier this year, citing irregularities and violence.
