Rivers - The Rivers State Government has announced restrictions in the movement of citizens and vehicles on Saturday when the state conducts its monthly sanitaisation exercise.
Jerry Needam, Special Adviser on Media And Publicity the Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency, as usual human and vehicular movements will be restricted from 7am to 10am during the sanitation hours.
“Anyone caught violating the restriction of movement order shall be arrested and charged before the Sanitation Court,” said Needam.

“The Sole Administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency, Bro Felix Obuah therefore, appeals to all residents to fully participate by cleaning their environment, clearing their drains, bagging their wastes and dropping same at approved receptacles only.”
He also appealed to companies, corporate organizations and individuals to donate their pay loaders, trucks and other equipment for easy evacuation of waste on the Sanitation Day.
All those on essential services or duties are advised to obtain exemption permit from the office of the Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency, along Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt.
The Sanitation Day is held on the last Saturday of each month across the state.
