Kuje - The Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kuje (FCT), has warned motorists to avoid reckless driving and observe traffic rules to reduce accidents during the Christmas period.
The Unit Commander, Samuel Egwuatu, gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Kuje, Abuja.
"Christmas is around the corner and the roads will be busy with motorists travelling to various places in the country.
"I urge all drivers to respect and abide by the traffic rules and regulations to prevent accidents during this period.
"Some accidents don’t just happen; they are caused by carelessness and reckless driving and I also call on the drivers to respect other road users so that we can have an accident-free period,'' he said.
Egwatu advised the general public to call FRSC call centre on 122 in case of emergency.
He said the agency was embarking on enlightenment campaign to sensitise the public to road traffic rules and regulations.
