Abuja - The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) recorded six deaths and 42 injuries from 20 crashes during the just-ended Eid-el Fitr Sallah Muslim holiday.
Wole Olaniran, the FRSC Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO) in charge of Edo, Delta and Anambra States, added that more than 80 people were rescued from the crashes.
The traffic accidents occurred between August 7 and 11 on different routes in the affected states.
Olaniran said although the festivities had ended, the organisation would maintain a presence on the roads to ensure safety.
FRSC, he said, would collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure that.
“The presence of our men will ever remain visible on the highways to caution motorists as well as provide quick rescue operations when accidents occur,” Olaniran added.
He warned motorists to always obey traffic laws and to ensure that their vehicles were in good shape before embarking on journeys.
