Lagos - Eight students of Ajangbadi High School in Iba Local Council Development Area, Lagos were injured when their school railing collapsed while they were leaning on it, Vanguard reports.
The rail was said to be very old and rusty, but the school management refused to replace it.
Rofiat Ademola, a Senior Secondary School, SSS1 student, who witnessed the incident, said they were all in their classrooms when suddenly they heard a loud bang. On rushing out, they saw that eight students had fallen from the second floor of the two-storey school building.
The injured students were rushed to the hospital where only one is in a critical state. Others are said to be responding well to treatment.
