Scorned Ikorodu woman pours hot water over ex-lover

11 August 2015, 10:06

Abuja - The scorned ex-lover of an Ikorodu man has allegedly poured hot water over him after discovering him with a new girlfriend, PUNCH reports.

The man, Charles Ajayi, is alleged to have been injured by his ex-girlfriend, identified as Josephine Oriwoh, after he brought his new girlfriend to an wedding that both the former lovers were invited to.

Ajayi's new girlfriend, identified only as Ogechi, is said to have fallen asleep with Ajayi while the two were waiting for water to heat up before they took a bath.

Infuriated at the sight of Ogechi, Oriwoh barged into the lovers' room at approximately 6 a.m. and proceeded to pour hot water over the duo, severely burning Ajayi's face and back, as well as Ogechi's back.

The couple were rushed to hospital following the incident.

DSP Patricia Amadin, Police Public Relations Officer, has confirmed the incident and said that Oriwoh has been arrested for the act.
