Rivers - The All Progressives Congress (APC), which welcomed the release of journalist Dornu Kogbara, urged security agencies to ensure safety of citizens in the Rivers State.
The ruling party welcomed the freeing of Kogbara by his abductors 12 days after she was forcefully taken away by gun men from her family home in Port Harcourt.
“The APC would like to thank the Almighty God for Dornu’s safe return to her loved ones,” Chris Finebone APC Rivers Publicity Secretary, said.

“We would also like to thank our leader, the former Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for his role in the release of Dornu Kogbara. Same appreciation goes to officers of the Department of State Services [DSS] and Kogbara’s journalist colleague, Uche Igwe for all their immeasurable contributions that resulted in the safe release of Dornu Kogbara.”
It could not be ascertained what role Amaechi played.
Nonetheless, agencies were encouraged to enhance security.
“The APC would like to call on various security agencies in Rivers State to always be alive to their responsibilities by ensuring the safety of lives and property of the people and residents of Rivers State,” said Finebone.
