Lagos - The Lagos state government revealed on Thursday that it spends over N51billion on security, Nation reports.
The Lagos Sate governor Babtunde Fashola made this known at the Seventh Annual Town Hall Meeting on Security.
Fashola said N45 billion was needed to buy 9 000 Toyota Hilux vans at N5 million each and N6.3 billion was used to buy fuel or them.
He encouraged Nigerians and corporate bodies to contribute to the trust fund and advised residents to be security conscious.
The town hall meeting which was organized by the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), also recognized 50 police officers for their bravery in crime fighting in the outgoing year.
