Seven arrested for kidnapping of NACCIMA boss

Abuja - The Oyo State Police Command have rescued the National Life Vice President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) from his captors.

Having taken place in Aija, a village in the Egbeda Local Government Area, the rescue also resulted in the arrest of seven suspects.

In addition to the arrest, approximately N2 million in charms, live ammunition, guns, cutlasses and clothes were retrieved from the kidnappers.

 According to a PUNCH report, the victim, Chief Adebowale Omotoso, was kept in a dilapidated mud house and had an alleged $1 million ransom put upon him.

Narrating his ordeal to police, the man said that he was told to have been transported to a location in Edo State.

Omotoso also claimed to have been fed regular food during his stay, along with orange juice and water melon.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Katsina, has confirmed the incident and has said that the ringleader in the operation, known only as Lucky,  is currently at large and is being hunted down by officials.
