Shadow Cabinet to keep Buhari's cabinet check

Lagos - An unofficial Shadow Cabinet has been formed to be a watchdog to the cabinet President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to announce in the coming days.

Shadow Cabinet of Nigeria (SCN), which calls itself a group of young creative and peace-loving individuals, has formed the cabinet.

Israel Oladipupo Ogunseye is the Group Secretary of the Cabinet, Oke Umurhohwo is Deputy Secretary of the Cabinet while Adannaya Alex is Second Deputy Secretary of the Shadow Cabinet.

Others are Oshiokpekhai Utu-Orbih and Owoyele Charisma are cabinet advisers.

Oladipupo said the Shadow Cabinet was poised to ensure the continual development of Nigeria's democracy and nation building.

The group pledged to continually keep the government on its toes, determined to change the face of Nigerian opposition politics.

“The Shadow Cabinet of Nigeria, which is set up to monitor and provide viable alternatives to government policies across various ministries, has publicly announced its presence on the Nigerian political ecosystem,” Oladipupo said.

He added that the group is made up of individuals from a plethora of backgrounds, personalities, capabilities and capacities, adding that the group is open to dedicated and result oriented members of all opposition political parties.
