Abuja - The soldiers and police officers who were seriously injured during the terror attacks in Borno State each received N250 000 (US$ 1 500) as compensation.
The five police officer and three soldiers were injured in a clash with insurgents in Bama last week.
The Deputy Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Zanna Umar Mustapha, paid out the money.
"The injured security personnel were injured in the course of defending their nation. We wish them a quick recovery. The government will continue to support security agencies in the state," he said.
The injured security men are currently receiving treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
Insurgents suffered a heavy casualty because of the clashes in Bama, which left 32 suspected insurgents as well as two soldiers and a policeman dead.
An assortment of weapons was recovered.
