Lagos - The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has confirmed the appointment of Tomi Somefun as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Unity Bank.
She succeeds Henry Semenitari, who resigned his appointment with the bank last month.
Prior to her appointment, Somefun was the Executive Director responsible for Lagos and South West Regional Operations, and oversight on Treasury and Financial Institutions Division.

Described as an experienced professional with a depth of experience and knowledge of the finance industry, Somefun has more than three decades of cognate experience of which 26 years were in the banking sector.
She has worked at such firms as Peat Marwick & Co, Arthur Andersen & Co, United Bank for Africa and UBA Pensions Custodian.
Somefun holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in English Language from the Obafemi Awolowo University. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
