Spain speaks against Borno terror attacks

Abuja - Spain has condemned the recent killing of 16 Borno State herdsman by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect.

“Spain condemns in the strongest terms the recent terrorist attacks perpetrated by members of Boko Haram group in the Nigerian State of Borno, which caused the death of tens of people and injured many of them,” the Spanish Embassy said in a statement from Abuja.

“The Government of Spain wishes to express its most heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and to the Nigerian people and authorities, due to this devastating situation. In the same time wishes the injured people a speedy recovery.”

The European country pledged its support to Nigeria in the fight against terrorism.

"In the same vein, Spain wishes to reiterate to Nigeria, its support in the fight against the scourge of terrorism, perpetrated by groups like Boko Haram and has the confidence that this friendly nation will be capable of establishing a climate of religious tolerance, coexistence and social peace which its citizens deserve.”
