Abuja - The Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives condemned the killing of students and a teacher at a boarding school in Yobe over the weekend.
Alleged Boko Haram members killed 42 students at the government Secondary School at Mamudo in Potiskum local government area.
Speaker Aminu Tambuwal described the killing of the students and the teacher by unknown gunmen as wicked and horrendous.
"No reason can be given to justify such dreadful act," he told CAJ News.
Tambuwal has tasked security agencies to investigate the attack and arrest the perpetrators and ensure they faced justice.
He expressed sympathy with the families of the victims and urged Nigerians to be more vigilant and help security agencies with useful information to help secure their areas.
He assured Nigerians of the said National Assembly's support to ensure peace and security was restored in all parts of the country.
Yobe is one of areas to bear the biggest brunt of terror activities by the Boko Haram insurgents, culminating in government declaring a state of emergency.
