Abuja - The National Association of Students of English and Literary Studies (NASELS) has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint Abike Dabiri to his cabinet.
The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) chapter’s President, Sodiq Oyeleke, and Public Relations Officer, Adebimpe Omolaso, said this would further intensify Buhari’s efforts to appoint technocrats into his administration.
Dabiri, a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Constituency in Lagos State, is an alumnus of the Department of English at the Osun State-based university.

“Dabiri, who is another outstanding product of our department, deserves to be appointed as a minister. We do not think that there is a better way to reward one of the exceptional products of our department than including her as one of the major actors in the present government,” said Oyeleke and Omalaso.
They meanwhile welcomed the appointment of Femi Adesina as one of President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokespersons.
Adesina is another alumnus of the university.
“This goes a long way to give credence to the unswerving effort of the department and the university at large in inculcating knowledge, discipline and culture in student over the year. Adeshina an intelligentsia and strategic thinker with rare acumen is one of the numerous astute product of the department of English and literary studies,” said the student leaders.
“The entire member of the NASELS OAU chapter heartily felicitates with Femi Adesina on his recent appointment which is a manifestation of his relentless effort in sustaining the growth of objective journalism in Nigeria.
