Suspected abductor of Sun newspaper boss's wife paraded

Lagos - A suspected member of the gang who allegedly abducted Toyin Nwosu, the wife of the Deputy Managing Director of the Sun Newspapers was paraded by the Lagos State Police Command, Thisday reports.

The suspect who was identified as Odo Sylvester, a student of the Kogi State University, is presently being detained at the Special Anti Robbery Squad(SARS) for being part of the gang that kidnapped Nwosu at their Okota residence, Lagos on Monday, September 17, 2015.

The suspect while explaining the role he played in the abduction said that he was not part of the gang, but only tried to cash in on the situation of things by calling the husband, Steve Nwosu to pay him N100 000 in order to reconnect him with his wife.

The kidnappers dropped her off near Zenith Bank by Festac bridge and sped off with their boat.

The state commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, who paraded the suspect alongside 42 other suspects who were arrested for various crimes including armed robbery, said the case was being investigated.
