Suspected cultists arrested for Ogun killings

20 August 2015, 07:50

Abuja - Ogun State police have arrested three suspected cult members in connection with a deadly clash between two rival groups in the Ijoko area of the state, PUNCH reports.

The men, identified as Idris Adejumo, Muyideen Bello and Friday Edoh, were said to have been arrested by officials of the Agbado Police Division on Wednesday morning after a fight broke out between them.

While two of the men admitted to being cult members, the third (Muyideen Bello) stated that he was merely a friend of Adejumo.

According to previous reports, three people lost their lives during a clash in the area on August 5, while several others were injured.

Bello has stated that he was neither involved in the clash on August 5, no the fight on Wednesday morning, and that he just happened to be in the area at the time the arrests were made.

DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, Ogun State Police spokesperson, confirmed the arrests and said that a thorough investigation would be entered into, following which the men would appear in court.
