The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, has petitioned the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta over a fresh plot to remove him as Speaker through the court.
He asked the Chief Judge to reassign a new case filed by a member of the House of Representatives, Isiaq Akinlade, who is seeking an ex-parte order to declare his seat vacant, to a neutral judge.
Tambuwal in a November 30, 2014 petition to the Chief Judge also said there are five pending suits on a similar application by Akinlade.

The Speaker had last week asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to commit the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Suleiman Abba, to jail for defiling a court order.
Justice Ahmed Muhammed ordered that all parties should maintain the status quo, implying that Tambuwal stays put on his seat as speaker till the court takes a decision on the matter.
