Abuja - Six people, mainly hawkers, were crushed to death by a tanker yesterday after it rammed into a building materials market in Ogidi in the Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
According to a Sun News report, the propeller of the 40-foot petroleum-laden tanker pulled out, causing the vehicle to ram into buses waiting for passengers alongside the Onitsha/Enugu Expressway, crushing vehicles and people in its path.

The driver of the vehicle is said to have fled the scene shortly after the incident took place.
