Abuja - Taraba State Acting Governor, Alhaji Sani Abubakar Danladi, has constituted a committee to investigate the payment of compensation to land owners by the Dangote Lau Sugar Company.
This was disclosed in a press statement signed by Hassan Mijinyawa, Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, following petitions written by the land owners in Lau local government area of the state.
He said Uba Maigari Ahmadu would serve as the chairman of the committee while Yakubu Bulus will serve as the committee secretary.
Other members of the committee are Danladi Baido, Planner Joshua Ivo, Headman Nanjo, Ishaya Abdu, Bulus Audu and Abubakar Bala.

Mijinyawa said the committee would determine and consider all complaints over discrepancy in payment of compensation and determine if funds released by Dangote Lau Sugar Company were correctly paid to the land owners.
The committee would also advice the state government on any other matter related to acquisition of land by the company.
Mijinyawa said the committee would be inaugurated on Friday this week at the executive chamber of the Government House, adding that they have 14 days to submit their report.
