Task force arrests 22 suspected hoodlums in llorin

Ilorin - The Kwara Anti-Thuggery Taskforce on Monday said it had arrested 22 suspected hoodlums at different locations in Adeta and Pakata areas of Ilorin, the state capital.

Alhaji Suleiman Abdulsalam, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security and Intelligence, made this known in an interview in llorin.

He said some of the suspects were arrested at a shrine in Adeta in llorin, adding that some dangerous weapons and charms stained with fresh blood were recovered from them.

Abdulsalam said that a joint operation comprising the NDLEA, vigilante group and police tagged: ‘Operation Harmony’ on Friday also arrested 32 people at an Indian hemp joint in the outskirt of llorin.

According to him, all the suspects are being detained and interrogated by the security agents.

Abdulsalam advised the people to be security conscious and always give useful information on suspected criminals in their midst to the security agencies.

It is reported that the task force was constituted by the state government to curb the post election violence in the state, which led the destruction of valuable properties like buildings and vehicles worth millions of naira.
