Kano - The Joint Task Force on the Control of Drug Abuse, Trafficking and Other Related Offences has impounded a truck loaded with drugs in Kano, a statement said.
The statement, signed by Malam Isma’il Garba, the Public Relations Officer of the state Ministry of Health, said that the truck belongs to 'Kwara Chemicals'.
According to the statement, the task force acted on a tip-off that the truck was at Sabon Gari Market.
The Head of the Task Force, Malam Gali Sule, declared the sale of substandard drugs in the markets and similar places as illegal.
Sule urged members of the public to assist the committee with vital information to help win the war against illicit use and sale of illegal drugs in Kano.
He advised dealers in substandard drugs to comply with the law or the full wrath of the law, adding that owners of the impounded truck would be prosecuted after thorough investigations.
