Abuja – A teenage girl who was forced into marriage by her parents has fled from her husband’s home and is currently taking refuge at the Niger State Ministry of Education, All Africa reports.
The 17-year-old girl revealed that it was her dream to complete her education but her parents insisted that she gets married.
She is a native of Agaie, and has been handed over to the Emir of Agaie’s palace. The state commissioner of Education, Danladi Umar Abdulhameed, has said that education should be the first priority for any child.
