Terrorists kill 40 in Borno villages

Abuja - Suspected members of the Boko Haram sect have killed 40 people in Bama local government area of Borno State.

Chairman of Bama local government area of Borno State, Baba Shehu Gulumba, confirmed the terror attack on Monday.He said the victims were killed both at in Gulumba and T- Junction villages over two different days.

"Gunmen believed to be Boko Haram sect members attacked and killed 27 people in Gulumba and injuring 12 others when they came into the village at about 6 am and set houses ablaze and shot at or slaughtered anyone who comes out. 13 people were attacked and killed on Saturday at the T-Junction village,” he said in Maiduguri.

He said it was disturbing that people were fleeing Gulumba.“If nothing is done fast to reassure the people of their security soon the village will be a ghost village.”

He called on the government to deploy more security men to boost safety in Bama as the attacks by members of the sect were increasing.
