Calabar - A suspected fraudster, Clifford Nduka Nwachukwu has been arraigned before the Lagos High Court, Ikeja for defrauding a company N27 million. Nwachukwu and his company, Jethrow Nigeria, was paid to refurbis the Calabar port.
They are facing a charge of fraud.
According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Nwachukwu's problems started in January 2013 when Jethrow Limited was awarded a contract to refurbish, rehabilitate and re-install six Steel Skirt Navigational Marking Buoys at Calabar Port.
Abhal Ventures Limited, through Abu Mohammed, awarded the contract.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Justice Kudirat Jose adjourned the matter to October 14 and ordered that the accused person be remanded in Kirikiri Maximum Prison.
