Rivers - The Rivers State Police Command has arrested three suspects and impounded two trucks with suspected stolen crude oil.
The State Commissioner of Police, Tunde Ogunshaki, confirmed this to media in Port Harcourt.
He said the suspects were arrested at Elelenwo, Akpajo express way on a shell facility, adding that each of the three trucks contains 55 000 litres suspected stolen crude oil.
The three suspects were identified as Jonathan Okon, aged 42, Donald Kingsley (28) and Sunday Nachia (26).
As exhibit, police said, they had three 25 000-litre trucks with two fully loaded contents identified to be crude oil.
"Since my assumption in office I have intimated you of my resolve to fight those who are against our Nation’s economic growth and you know that the Federal Government is leaving no stone unturned in the fight against crude oil theft and vandalism of oil pipelines,” Ogunshaki said.
He added that the suspects would be charged in court after completion of investigations.
