Abuja - Three people have been arraigned for allegedly attempting to defraud Diamond Bank of N100 million.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned the suspects-Godwin Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, Evaristus Moses Oyemah and Kenneth Iweha -before Justice Nmakanma of the High Court of Abia State.
According to a press statement by the Commission, one of the suspects Ojukwu, was allegedly involved in credit card fraud when in the United States and he recruited Evaristus Oyemah and Iweha who were apprehended while attempting to defraud Diamond Bank's Umuahua branch.
One of the charge reads “Godwin Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, Evaristus Moses Oyemah and Kenneth Iweha on or about the 20th day of August , 2013 in Umuahia, within the Umuahia Judicial Division with intent to defraud conspired to steal the sum of N100 000 from Diamond Bank Plc, Umuahia Branch, property of Diamond Bank”.
Justice Nmakanma ordered that the accused persons be remanded at Afara prisons, Umuahia and adjourned the case to April 29 for hearing of bail application.
