Tinubu calls for unity during Sallah

28 September 2015, 18:09Okoro Chinedu

Lagos - Lagos Senator, Oluremi Tinubu, has felicitated with Muslims across the country as they celebrated the just-ended Eid-el-Kabir.

She said this year's celebration pondered on the significance of commitment and personal sacrifice towards ensuring a united Nigeria.

The legislator said the period reflected soberly on how Nigeians could promote peaceful co-existence and a sense of empathy especially to fellow citizens who had become victims of needless suffering and deprivation across Nigeria.

"Indeed, in the face of preventable tragedies that have befallen our nation in the past, all of us should express gratitude," she said.

"I enjoin you all to be law abiding, celebrate modestly and keep supporting this government until we reach our promised land," Tinubu said
