Calabar - Gunmen suspected to be hired assassins on Tuesday shot dead the traditional ruler of the Esighi community in Bakassi Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Muri Okon Effiong Odionka, the Efut Esighi Isu Ekom was shot in his residence at Bayside axis of Calabar South, reports The Sun.
The assassins who were trailing him from his village in Bakassi, struck few hours after he entered his house.
The gunmen numbering about four made sure he was dead before they escaped.
