Trigger-ready man, 32, remanded in Ibadan prison for murder

Ibadan - An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates' Court on Wednesday in Ibadan remanded a 32-year-old man, Abubakar Tanko, at Agodi Prisons for allegedly killing a man, Mohammed Mayo.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.F. Richard, who gave the order, said the accused should remain behind bars pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Cpl. Salewa Hammed told the court that Tanko caused the death of Mohammed Mayo, 35, by shooting him with a double barrelled gun.

According to him, the offence was committed on Sept. 30 at about 1.00 p.m. at Ojo Aro, Alusekere Village near Ibadan.

The offence contravened the provisions of Section 316 and 319 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
